What do you want to work out with your money?
Pick a question. We show what each choice would mean in rupees, using real bank rates and real mutual fund history. FinResp is an independent research platform: we do not sell funds, take bookings or earn commission, and no agent will call you.
What will an FD pay me?
Your amount and time, or a target: the rate at every bank we cover, what you get, and what to check before you book.
Is my SIP enough for my goal?
Your monthly amount and time, with inflation. Growth rates come from what real funds did, not from us.
What could a lump sum become?
A one-time amount over the years you choose, next to today's best FD, and whether putting it in all at once beat spreading it out.
I have money to spare: loan, FD or market?
What closing a loan, an FD and a fund would each leave you with, and what investing has to earn to come out ahead.
How did a fund do in the past?
Pick a fund and a monthly amount: what it would actually have become, and how much the start date mattered.

Worth knowing before you decide
Closing a loan earns a guaranteed return
It equals the loan's rate. In the past, large-cap funds beat 11.5% a year in 74% of 3-year periods and fell short in 26%. Both are true, which is why we show both.
FDs and the price of things
A 7.3% FD with 6% inflation earns about 1.4% a year in buying power before tax, and slightly less than nothing after tax at the 30% slab.
Deposit insurance is ₹5 lakh per bank
₹10 lakh in one bank leaves half uninsured. Two banks keep it all covered, at a small cost in rate.
