What to look at next
How it works
- Fill in any two details. Bank name, city and pincode: any two of the three is enough. Or switch tabs and enter an IFSC code to see which branch it belongs to.
- Tap Find IFSC Code. You get the matching branches a page at a time (5 per page on a phone, 10 on a larger screen), each with its IFSC code, address, MICR code, and whether NEFT, RTGS and IMPS are supported. Use Next to see more.
- Check the branch before you use the code. Make sure the bank, branch name and address match the account you are paying.
Questions people ask
What is an IFSC code?
It is an 11-character code that identifies a bank branch for electronic transfers such as NEFT, RTGS and IMPS. The first four characters are letters for the bank, the fifth is a zero, and the last six characters identify the branch.
Where can I find my own branch's IFSC code?
On your cheque leaf, your passbook's first page, or in your bank's app or net banking. You can also search for it here by bank name, city and pincode.
What is a MICR code?
A 9-digit code printed on cheques that identifies the bank and branch for cheque clearing. It is different from the IFSC code, and not every branch has one.
Where does this data come from, and how current is it?
From the open IFSC dataset maintained by Razorpay, which we refresh every quarter. Branches open, close and merge, so before sending a large payment, confirm the code with the person you are paying or with the bank.
Is it safe to use an IFSC code from a website?
A wrong code can send a payment to the wrong branch or fail it. Check that the bank name and branch shown match what you expect, and prefer the code your payee gives you or your bank's own app when you have it.
