Questions people ask

Is this the live MYR to INR rate?

No. It is the European Central Bank's daily reference rate, which the ECB publishes once each working day, so it is the latest daily rate rather than a moving market price. The date is shown with the rate.

Why is the rate my bank or forex card gives me different?

Banks, forex counters and money-transfer services add a margin to the market rate and often charge a fee on top, so you receive fewer rupees per Malaysian ringgit than a reference rate suggests. Use this rate as a benchmark to judge the one you are offered, not as the rate you will get.

Why do other websites show a slightly different number?

Rates move through the day, and sources differ in what they report: a market price at a particular moment, an average, or a daily reference rate like this one. A small difference between sources is normal.

How do I convert rupees to Malaysian ringgit?

Use the swap button to flip the converter to INR to MYR, or divide the rupee amount by the Malaysian ringgit rate. For example, at about ₹23 per Malaysian ringgit, ₹2,300 is about RM100.

Can I use this rate for tax or an official filing?

Not without checking. Tax, customs and similar filings may need a specific rate published by the Reserve Bank of India or another authority on a specific date. Confirm which rate applies before you rely on a figure from any converter.

Where does the data come from?

From the European Central Bank's published daily reference rates, delivered through the free Frankfurter data service. We do not add any margin or change the numbers.
